Removing the curtains (do not do this before the day that your are moving out because of the risk of burglary)
Store keys in a key bag
Prepare household waste and seal it properly
Store your cash and your bankcards in separate places in your hand luggage
Check the house for things left behind
Write down the metre readings in the old and the new house

Shut off gas and electricity (if required)
Drain the water mains in winter (even if it is not freezing)
Close doors and windows
Hand over the keys of the old house
Say goodbye to the neighbours
